Promoting Unhindered Cross-border Giving

Receiving and using funding is the means for civil society to operate and implement activities toward a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world. Independent and enabled philanthropy, therefore, is central to the support for civil society's role in the social and democratic ecosystem of any country. 

However, restrictions on cross-border giving that supports local civil society and philanthropic ecosystem building are growing. These restrictions represent major hurdles to philanthropy worldwide. 

This policy paper by WINGS provides recommendations to governments and financial authorities about how they can promote policy reform of regulations that currently disincentivise or prohibit cross-border collaboration among philanthropic entities worldwide.
