This is a guide for community foundations on how to achieve compliance with the National Standards for Community Foundations, adopted in 2000. Developed by the Standards Action Team and the Council on Foundations staff, this compliance process involves three phases: Phase I is the voluntary declaration of intent to comply. Phase II "Confirmation of Compliance" involves submission and review of relevant documents. This guide describes the process in detail. The future phase III will involve on-site peer team reviews.
